We are family too

Morning-ish!

I've had a lazy one so far, but must get going very soon, but thought id blog quickly...

Here's a sample from telly using the Family Tree stencil and the bunny stamps.

The lone bunny at the front is Saphire sat watching from Rainbow Bridge, she would have been 4 this month..

Anyway, today's project is to build/erect/botch a stair or ramp system for Milly, Jake and big Sam to let themselves in and out of their new place, at the moment I'm having to lift them in and out which they don't particularly like, Sam in particular frets if he can't get back in when he's ready.

Ok, so before I reach for the drill, just quick reminder to put your name on the previous post if you would like to win some lush flowers.
Have a good one.

Flowers from my frog...

Morning!

And Happy Valentines to ya.

As you can see, me and my frog are still together and going strong after 38 years, he still hasn't turned into a prince but that's ok.

Kermy is feeling extra loved up this Valentines Day, and would like to send some pretty Sweet Lilac Flowers to a lucky crafter.

Maybe your own frog forgot to even get you a card? Soooo, if you fancy your chances with my frog, just leave a comment and take a guess how old I was when me and Kermy got together...

He will randomly pick a winner from correct answers on Monday.

Bullrushes

Goods Morning!

So 3 blog posts in a week, wonders never cease...

Today's card is one I made to use up a couple of scraps from my desk as they were fresh, I'm trying to turn over a new leaf, my friend Linda Page wiped the floor with me over my serious hoarding tendencies, but I can't bring myself to throw everything away so I thought if I used a few bits up as they appeared on my desk...

I used White Brilliance ink to stamp the Clever Urn and Bullrushes onto textured black card, because of the colours it seemed to take on an oriental feel so I grabbed on of the Chinese symbols.

I added a touch of red to the end of the Bullrushes using Prisma pencil.

Hope you like it.

Have a great day whatever your up to.

May all your...Gerberas.

Evening!

I said I would show you Jeanette's birthday card didn't I...I'm sure she has opened it by now so it's ok.

I'm trying to be a better friend when it comes to birthday cards, so many good friends didn't get one last year, so hopefully I can make up for it this year-we'll see!

I used the Gerbera stamps again with Distress re-inkers..

One of my fave text stamps too...

And a biiiiig embossing folder from Spellbinders.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by, keep watching out for a giveaway very soon...

Colourful Gerbera

Good evening!

I thought I would do this now instead of in the morning, I will be running around getting ready for class at Crafts 4 U 2 Do in St Helens...

Actually this is a bit of a sneaky look at one of the projects we will be doing, Distress Re-inkers is the subject.

The stamps used are Large Gerbera and Love and Best Wishes, from Claritystamp of course.

I used these stamps for my friend Jeanette's birthday card too, show you tomorrow after she's opened it, Happy Birthday Jeanette!

Ok, sleep time, nighty night or good morning depending on when you read this.

Watery resist

Hello!

I won't bother with excuses about my absence, I'll just show you a card...

The background was created with a resist technique using Versamark to stamp various text on Clarity coated card, watered down ink was then transferred from a blending mat.

I mopped up the remaining ink with another piece of card and used it to paper piece the Sketched Lady.

Hope you like it!

Getting there...

Hello!

What a busy week it's been, Sunday some of the girlies came to help with the move....

Not sure what Mandy was doing...I do worry for her.

Not sure what the photographer was doing here...

Oh this is what she was doing...does this count as a photobomb?

It was great to have so many lovely friends help, Steve and Martin were careful to avoid being photographed, but they worked hard too, I couldn't have done it all without precious friends.

There's still lots to do but it's getting there...

Here's the beginnings of the Claritystamp shop area

I'm looking forward to everything being finished and in place so I can show the whole kaboodle.

Thanks for stopping by!

That butterfly again...

Good morning!

This is another scheduled post while I'm still getting settled into the unit, it's looking ok isn't it?

So yet again I'm struggling for something creative to show you, id quite happily show you more pics of the unit but I think you might get bored, so I won't...

Instead I have this one, and again I hope I haven't already showed you it..

It's a magazine card I did for Creative Cardmaking..

I used one of the lovely Verso cutting dies from Tonic.

And that cool Butterfly stamp

I also used parts of a couple of sentiment stamps, I like the look of the different fonts together.

I added the extra layer with heat resistant acetate, embossed with the same ink, I think I used the new Cornflower Archival from Ranger.

Hope you like it!

Too good for the bin me thinks..

Good Morning!

And once again I'm struggling for something creative to show you while I'm getting organised..

I do apologise if I end up showing you something I've already shown you, I do try and scroll back as much as I can to check.

This is one of my fave pieces ever ever ever, possibly because it came from a piece of waste..

It started off a piece of Gelli plate waste, like this one

It's not great is it.....

Until you throw a couple of Claritystamps, some ink and a Clarity stencil at it.

It's quite a big piece, about A4 size.

The stamps and stencil i used are...

Remountable trees and mantle set

Remountable Sapling set

Curly strip 2 part stencil

I hope you like it.

I think eventually I will ask Barbara if I can have it back for my wall, I really do love it.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

The security team...

Afternoon!

Wanna see what's new at the unit??

Well it's not actually at the unit, but it will be when it's done...

Here is the raw materials, can you guess what it's gonna be??

And with such valuable building materials I thought I needed a security guard, or 3.

Milly Posh Paws is hoping for a uniform...

Sam's shift....

And little Jake taking the job very seriously...don't mess with him.

Another addition is a cool little warehouse trolley...

This will make the move easier on Sunday, but also very useful for transporting heavy workshop boxes around venues.

I just got to get my spanner on the wheels!

Thanks for stopping by.

Is it too soon??

Good Morning!

Another busy one, I have a joiner coming to the house today to do work mainly in Steve's room, so probably won't get to the unit today, but thinking about it that's probably fine because its time to start packing ready for Sunday!

I have some top top top buddies coming to help with the move, for which I am very grateful.

So as you can imagine, not a lot has happened at my desk for about a week so I'm struggling for a card to show you...

I know it's January....but....

I did scroll back quite a while to check, and I don't think I've shown you this one.

I did this with some of the ladies at Crafts4u2do in St. Helens.

We used some Clarity stencils and the Happy word set, and also used a Martha Stewart snowflake punch to make a stencil to use with texture paste.

Hope you like it even if it is too early in the year!

Come back tomorrow to see what progress I've made at the unit.

Taking shape

Good morning!

I thought I'd show you how things are going at the unit.

So this is how it looked when I first viewed it....

It's a long slim shape, bit like myself really, quit laughin!

It measures 360 square feet, yes a bit like me, shut it!

Soo, I got my keys on Friday, and here's how it's looking now...

I've measured, re-measured, and double checked my re-measure to plan where everything is going.

I wasn't sure if there would be enough space to put the shelving units against that wall, so I did a role play experiment with our Steve..

We sat next to each other with a piece of wood ( pretending it was a table, as you do ) and I had to say "excuuuuuuuse me please, can I get past you" then Steve had to move his chair in a little bit so I could see if I could get past between his chair and the unit.....

Steve rolled his eyes at me a lot, but the experiment worked so the shelves are staying!

Up my end of the room, I have a little desk..

It doesn't look that big in the pic but it's over 100 inches long and about 70 inches deep, I wonder how long it will take me to cover the whole area!

Lots of work still to do but it's taking shape.

Come back tomorrow and I'll show you a card,ok?

UTEE butterfly

Good Morning!

And it's the start of what promises to be a manic week for me...the event taking up most of the time is preparing and moving into my business unit, yeah!

I'll show you some piccies soon.

But you want to see a card don't you..

This is one I did for Creative Cardmaking a while ago, the theme was UTEE.

For this one I cut a square of board and triple embossed with clear powder, then on the last layer threw some mica powder in, then while still hot I stamped a Claritystamp butterfly into the UTEE.

The lush cutting die is a Cheery Lynn from Oyster.

Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by.

Flower Power

Happy Slipper day!

Oh yes, be assured I'm wearing them, I may even spend the morning in my pjs-because I can...

I had the urge to create but unfortunately I can't get at my desk with ease today, so it needed to be a nice quickie that I didn't need workspace for, soooo, I thought I would grab some pretty blooms from Sweet Lilac Flowers.

The current challenge over at the Sweet Lilac Blog is Lace and Buttons, I couldn't reach my lace drawer but I did find these nice Teal buttons from Jones, I thought hey would go nicely in the centre of the mixed daisies without the need to add additional colour, I added some of the pretty sweetheart blossoms in Lemon, little stamped greeting using my happy word set from Clarity. The embossing folder for the background is from Crafters Companion.

Hope you like it!

Have a good day and get yer slippers on...

Kind hearts are the garden...

Good morning!

Very quick post today because I'm busy having a battle of wills with stroppy teenagers who have a headache and don't feel well, translation....were up too late messing about on iPads etc when supposed to be asleep, so no sympathy. I'm a nasty unfeeling mother without a kind heart...

Speaking of kind hearts...

I wonder if in 10 years if they had crap qualifications and a crap job because I let them stay home and lay in bed half the day...would they thank me?

Seahorses...

Afternoon!

I said I would show you that Seahorse card didn't I.....

Here it is, it's an 8x8.

It's actually 3 layers, base layer is a Gelli print, middle layer is velum, top layer is heat resistant acetate.

I also used the little tropical fish stamps from Clarity.

Barbara really loved this one, so I will be putting the instructions on the V

Claritystamp gallery.

Also today, Barb is featuring the Seahorses on her blog, so for a different look go and have a gander...

Thanks for stopping by!

A workshop card...

Good Morning, well it's past midnight so it's definitely am...

I don't often show projects that we've done in class, but I thought the odd one here and there would be ok.

This one is using the lovely Sketched Lady with the Clever Urn and Sprig.
This project is quite special to me, most of the ladies who did this one with me looked at it and doubted they could do it, it pleases more than I can tell you when they all succeed and are proud of what they create!
I hope you like it!
Speaking of workshops, if you're interested in Preston, Chester, Shrewsbury please email me. The groups are so friendly and welcoming, and we eat cake..
I will also have some double news to tell you soon.....sorry to tease, I'm itching to tell you!
Thanks for stopping by, come back tomorrow for a proper look at this and how it was done....

Lock and key...

Happy Sunday!

Well I'm happy, it's the first Clarity telly of 2014 today, 9-11am then 2-3pm.

The new stamps are completely stunning....

This card won't be shown, because I made it after I posted my samples.

How lovely is this lock!

And the keys are so useful just on their own...but you get everything in the set, plus a heart shaped locket too.

I used Slate and Raisin inks for the background with Trellis stencil.

Oh I nearly forgot, I also used the large Art Nouveau corner.

Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by.
