Finish it Friday #3

Evening!

I nearly managed to schedule this for this morning, but when I went to take pic late last night it was too dark...

So this weeks piece is using more bits that I'd used Paperartsy paints on weeks ago, then in an attempt to use them up I stamped with the Shepherds Purse, some got used on the little canvas I did about a month ago and these bits were tossed to one side a second time! So I was determined to use them.

This was also a bit of an experimental piece for a couple of techniques I wanted to use for my mixed media class on Sunday, the final piece is very different but you can see the influence can't you?....

Hope you like it, maybe next Friday you can join in and finish something off? You could leave a link in a comment so I can come see.

Thanks for stopping by!

Finish it Friday #2

Good Morning!

I'm not sure where that week went to, it's really flown by, it was Thursday before I knew it!

So I had a frantic dig in the box of unloved half finished projects and leftovers.

I needed something I could complete very quickly because I've had a very busy day, so I opted for an inky Gelli print from ages ago...

So all I needed to do was trim it down, stamp the flower (a new design club stamp) and the Wordchain.

Tiny bit of colouring, then brush black ink around the edges for a smoky look.

Job done!

Sorry I haven't linked products, it's actually after 10pm Thursday night and I've just got home from class, not had tea yet and I'm shattered! So just pop over to the Claritystamp website and have a look around.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.

Finish it Friday #1

Happy Friday!

Yes the weekend is nearly here again, but before I start waving the flags and doing cartwheels, let me show you a project.

I have a box, very full box, of half finished projects and bits of leftovers, Linda Page will freak if she she's it! Soo, I thought id start a new little feature on bloggy called...Finish it Friday. So whatever I post on a Friday must use up something unfinished.

This one is using up a couple of bits, I had a few too many leaves I stamped and cut from painty background, actually they are trees but I thought they look like leaves if I use them that way. I also had an inky background on Gelli card that was too bright, so I dulled it with white paint then stamped a few stamps in distress ink, distress ink faded on top of paint which gives a nice muted look.
I decided to leave the heart blank for now because I don't know what I'll use this for yet.

Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the weekend. It's a busy one for me, Saturday is Shrewsbury class, Sunday I've volunteered to help at a fun day at Animal Care in Lancaster, that's where I adopted miss Tilly from.

Pretty in Turquoise

Good Morning!

Yep I know it's Monday, but it's also a fresh new week, a blank canvas, who knows what could happen...

I'm not totally sure why I feel so optimistic today, i slept very badly with several nightmares and then was awoke by child número uno throwing up in the bathroom, too much junk food over the weekend probably!

Before I lose my optimism and go back to bed I better show you a card

This is one I did for a magazine a while ago but forgot to show you...

I'm a little envious of this lady, not just her waistline but also her clothes actually fit properly, you should have seen the pantomime in my bedroom on Friday night trying to find something nice to wear for Port Sunny, I was actually safety pinned together in the end!

The accessories are from this stamp set, which was designed for the American tv launch of Clarity, it's available worldwide though. I'm sure you'll recognise the text as one of the Wordchains.

That's all from me, I have a list of stuff to do, thanks for stopping by and have a good Monday!

Evening invitation

Good Morning and Happy Saturday!

It's actually Happy Stampers spring festival today at Hulme Hall, Port Sunlight. It's a busy show this one, always a sell out.

The first couple of times I attended this show I was just there in my capacity as Amber's purse, she was the real crafter and I just paid, you just never know what the future holds do you....

Anyway, before I put my lippy on and join Barbara and the team, I've just time to show you another sample from last weekend, it's a nice simple one.

I just stamped the Shepherds Purse in Cornflower ink and added a tiny bit of shade with a grey pencil, brushed some Stormy Sky distress ink in from the left edge for a soft look, then finished with a little plaque with text from the Wedding words set.

Hope you like it!

If you are going to Port Sunny today don't forget to come see what we are up to on the Clarity stand.

Love & Cherish

Morning!

I have another of my Clarity samples from last weekend to show you today...

I quite like using text as a focal rather than just as a sentiment added on, so I used the new wedding line sentiments for this coupled with the little hearts from the wedding wee folk.

I just stamped the line sentiment in place then added the hearts and continued with the lines, I finished off by just dusting Abandoned Coral around the edges.

That's all for today, it's gonna be a busy one with a Wirral class, then weigh in, then fight the rush hour liverpool traffic to get Amber to her Science session at her new school.

Thanks for stopping by!

Shepherd's Purse canvas

Good Afternoon!

It's been another busy day, I've been up the motorway again today, I've signed the adoption papers for Tilly so it's official now.

In among all the hustle and bustle of the last few days, I did get a little play last night, I wanted to use up a couple of offcuts etc, so this is one of the bits I made...

I had a canvas painted with base layer of Paperartsy Taupe paint and a layer of crackle glaze over the top, so it just needed finishing off. I added the top layer of a pale blue paint, can't remember which one, then when it dried all crackly I brushed some inks through my clockwork Clarity stencil.

I also had some small pieces from when I'd been walking the Brayer and stencilling on top, so I used one of those to stamp the Shepherd's Purse (drawn by Amanda Branston) in Archival ink and coloured.c

Hope you like it!

I will take it to Happy Stampers at the weekend so some of you can have a closer look.

Mr and Mr

Good evening, hope you have enjoyed your Sunday, it's certainly flown by!

I did say I would show you the whole card from my sneak peek yesterday....

I inked through a heart aperture then stamped the dove from Wedding Wee Folk 6 in the same ink, I removed the aperture and stamped the car from the same set, then I masked the ends of the Mr & Mrs line sentiment to stamp Mr & Mr instead.

Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to check out the other DT members blogs for some fantastic Clarity samples.

Clarity sneak peek

Good afty to ya!

I hadn't realised the time I've been a busy girl round the house, I'm hoping to get all my jobs done so I can chill out tomorrow...

Speaking of tomorrow, you don't need me to remind you that Barbara is on Create and Craft in the morning at 9am-11am, the new stamp designs are beautiful as always, here is a sneak peek at one of my samples.

I will show you the full project tomorrow.

Right then back to housework and maybe another little walk with our new family member Tilly...

Thanks for stopping by.
