Monochrome Horse

Evening!

I just realised it's been 5 days.....so I better blog hadn't i.

This is another tv sample from the beginning of the month...

I used

Wooden Horse

Trojan Horse

ATC postage stamp

Paradise stamp

I really loved this except for one thing, I don't like how the grey colouring in looks patchy, I think I've pretty much made my mind up that I don't really like distress markers that much, sorry Mr Holtz I love everything else in the distress range.

Hope you like it!

It's been a busy day at Catterick and I'm tired now, so I'm off to read my book in bed.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Just to say

Good evening!

I wasn't going to blog until tomorrow because I'm meant to be having a day of rest, but is thought a quick blog wouldn't hurt before I go bed...

This is another of my telly samples from this month.

I quite like the effect I achieved with this one, especially the sky, I might do a little tutorial if I can find time this week.

I used...

Remountable Plough set

Ploughed Field stencil, we will be using this in class in July for sure

Remountable line sentiments,set 2

Oh and if your ordering from Clarity anytime soon, you should add one of the new Aprons to your order, as modelled by Heather,Jo, Moi, Sam at Doncaster at the weekend.... There's even a pocket,to put stuff.

Heather and Jo were demonstrating how they look if you don't have much up top- so to speak, whilst Sam and I show how great they look on ladies who have been amply blessed in the boob department. don't say I said but...I think Jo had packs of clarity sponges tucked down her pinny to try and pad the top out a bit lol.

Altered frame

Morning!

Today's project is one I did for Creative Cardmaking quite a while ago.

I used an mdf frame, some chalk paints and crackle from Paperartsy. Paper from Teresa Collins and a few flowers from Sweet Lilac.

Hope you like it, I love altering stuff!

Extreme masking again...

Hello!

I said I would show you what I did with the Filigraphy stamps that go with the big floral stencil...

Well actually I just used one of the petal stamps..

I do love making large backgrounds from little stamps!

I stamped the word lines first then masked the central area, stamped and masked as I went along, then brushed a couple of ink colours. Last time I did this with the family tree Filigraphy petals I used a turquoise ink with yellow, I think I prefer that colour combo, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

Congrats!

Good Morning!

This blogging is getting to be a habit again isn't it.

This is another of my samples from the weekend, I've been hoping for more stencils that I can use with pastes and stuff, just like this one!

The stamps that work with this stencil are pretty cool but I wanted to do something just with the lovely flower, so I inked with Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Festive Berries and Crushed Olive. Then I scraped some clear Dreamweaver paste over the stencil after I cleaned the ink off, then I was going to sprinkle with microbeads but I couldn't find them, so I sprinkled a tiny amount of crystal glitter instead.

Then I stamped the Congratulations.

Hope you like it, come back tomorrow to see what I did with the matching Filigraphy stamps.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just using up a Gelli

Good Morning!

I'm trying to catch up on things I haven't blogged, this is one...

I was sorting through a few bits, I found a couple of Memory Box dies I hadn't used and thought they would work well with some Gelli backgrounds from my pile/mountain, this particular print was one of my 'blot' pieces.

Hope you like it.

This ole house

Happy Monday!

Well I'm happy anyway, plenty to do and most of it pleasurable.

These stamps and stencils were certainly pleasurable to use, I think they will make their way into the workshops next month.

I used

God speed the Plough

Ploughed Field stencil

Large Cottage

And a tree from the Winter Trees set

Coincidentally I used the same colours Barbara used on telly.

I think if I do this one for workshops I will change the composition slightly, I'm not totally happy where the horse and plough are, but it's certainly not the worst thing I've ever produced.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by.

Have a good one!

Wooden Horse and the Trojan

Good Morning!

Are you all set to watch Barbara on the telly box at 9am? I know I am, Internet permitting.

This is the first of my samples using some of the new goodies...

I used the Wooden Horse, Trojan Horse and Morning has broken stamps, also one of the new abstract stencils. These are likely to sell out, but don't worry if you miss them on Create and Craft they will then be available on the Claritystamp website.

I stamped the wooden horse and masked it, stamped the Trojan and masked that too, then stencilled and stamped the Morning has broken.

Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely Sunday!

Been a bit busy....

Good evening! Did you think id evaporated?

Well some of you will know what's been keeping me busy, some of you won't...

You remember I moved into my little unit at the beginning of the year? Well, I've outgrown it already and have been moving into a new bigger one with separate shop space!

I haven't got too many pics yet because things only started moving along last weekend when some good buddies came over to help...

Susie 10 toes was the construction manager, or was it destruction, anyway she loves power tools!

Cindie was supposed to be catering manager and chief seamstress, but she dabbles too.

Michelle the merchandising specialist, she has other skills too, show you tomorrow.

Some people managed to dodge the camera...Jane, Brenda, Stella, Sharon, Martin.

Gotta show you this....

It's an old half torn apart set of filing drawers or something similar, I spotted it next to the communal bin and knew exactly what I could do with it, so I had it on my trolley within minutes and whisked it away to safety!

Come back tomorrow and I will show you what it looks like now it's been UPCYCLED, Michelle said that sounds better than recycled, snob!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

Bonjour!

Bon something or other! Or plain old good afternoon from France!

So was the long journey worth it? Yep.

I've created a few nice bits....

The one on the left was a bit of a collaboration with Paul Church, he makes nice flowers.

The tag was an experiment with some water soluble crayons that Sam Crowe threw at me.

Speaking of Paul and Sam....

Mandy Branston taught me to draw an eye...

And we have even had a day out sightseeing today.

The sun is shining so I'm off to sit and chill, have a good weekend.

Purple Twilight

Afternoon!

I thought I would steal five minutes to blog, it's officially my enforced sit down between tasks, very frustrating not being able to just crack on and get everything done but such is life.

So, without further waffle and dribble, here is the first of my Clarity samples from Barbara's show this morning, I did see the second hour but not the whole show.

I was quite happy with this but then added the misty bits through the sky, which I now wish I had left alone, I may re-do this when I have time and change the colour too.

Anyway, I used...

Remountable Moorhens and Nuthatches

Woodland animals

Branch

Tree Branch from the Fly Away set

Purple Twilight Adirondack

So that's my sit down over, back to it, soooo much to do its scary.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Rainbow Dolphins

Good evening!

I was starting to slip into bad blogging habits again, so I thought I would do a quickie before bed...

I was looking through piccies to see what I can show, I have one final card left to blog from last months Clarity telly with Barbara.

I'm already a huge fan of the Filigraphy Seahorses so when I saw the Dolphins I was delighted.

I spotted a couple of challenges that my card it...

http://tagalongchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ By the sea

http://milkcoffeechallenge.blogspot.com/ Use those bright colours

http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/. So bright gotta wear shades

I thought this might make a nice kiddies card, particularly with the word chains.

Also thought it might be nice to line them all up and spell child's name across them, but only thought of that after the deadline.

Speaking of deadlines, I managed to get this months telly samples posted with a day to spare! Come back tomorrow and I'll give you a sneak peek of one of my cards.

Almost Monochromatic

Hello!

Well it will probably be Sunday when you see this, but I've actually posted on Saturday evening because I really need to spend Sunday catching up on stuff at home. Kids are back to school tomorrow (excuse me if I am pleased about that) so, uniforms to be checked, homework to be checked, bunnies to clean out, and general restoring the house after 2 weeks of abuse by teenagers!

Anyways, the card is using an Elizabeth Bell topper that I've had forever, I thought it went nicely with the First Edition papers and some rather lovely blooms from Sweet Lilac flowers.

The theme for this months Sweet Lilac challenge is Monochromatic, well my card is almost Mono, and I'm only entering the challenge for fun and not wanting to be entered for the winners draw.

That's all for today, have a great Sunday!

Mirror mirror

Good Morning!

It should be happy slipper day, but I will be spending the day with the Preston tribe, so I will be wearing shoes, for the first hour at least.

Now, I've shown you all my Clarity samples from last months telly, and I can't show you the May samples yet, so here's something a bit different.

I did this a while ago for Creative Cardmaking.

I used a cheap ikea mirror, Teresa Collins papers, some pretty Sweet Lilac flowers and a bit of Gesso.

The swirl was done with acrylic paint.

Hope you like it!

Have a great Saturday, with or without your slippers on.

On yer bike!

Wish I had a £ for every time I was told 'on yer bike' when I was a kid, we had this miserable old git for a neighbour who was forever chasing the kids off, I remember he drove a Robin Reliant and one time about 1975/6 i got the strings from my kite tangled around his wing mirror, oh the wrath!

Anyway, how about a card with a bike...

The little flowers look great sat in the basket at the front of the bike, but the non-conformist in me said pattern building...

So I did the stamping and masking, coloured it and plonked it behind some velum, then stamped the bike on top of the velum.

The fence is a Memory Box cutting die.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by.

Slightly Gilded

Morning!

Hope you are well and the weather is treating you kind, we had some bizarre freak rainstorms here yesterday.

So ive been looking through the pic files again, I thought I would show you another poppy card, can you tell I love this stencil?

I used deep red texture paste and then sprinkled just a few gilding flakes over the top, no rubbing until its all dry though.
Hope you like it!

Looking through pics

Hello!

I was looking through a couple of albums to see what I haven't blogged, I don't remember blogging these, apologies if I have...

Using the Daffodil flowerbox stamp.

There's those bunnies again, you already know I love them, even though they don't look much like my three spoilt brats.

I added a bit of picket fence distress marker to the bunnies for a ghostly look.

This one was just using up a couple of pieces of card as I trimmed them off another project.

I thought the colours looked a bit oriental so i decided to use the joined hummingbird stamp and the luck symbol.

Hope you like!

Thanks for stopping by.
