Happy Times

Morning! Actually its nearly 2am, but that's still morning.
So while I'm laying awake I might as well do a quick blog post.
This is one of my samples for Barbara's CHA launch shows in America.
I do like those flowers, part of the Bouquet stamp and stencil set.
I did a little masking for this one, not too extreme though.
Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by.

Toucan

Good Morning!

I was going to blog this card a couple of days ago but I just couldn't think of a title....still can't, so Toucan will have to suffice.

I know lots of people like to colour birds in the correct colours, but to me that's one of the good things about stamps-you can do it your own way!

I started with a heart aperture, stamped the Toucans and covered them with the matching mask. Then I stamped the blossom, put a moon mask in place and brushed the sky. Remove masks and colour images. Then I removed the aperture and replaced with the solid heart piece, brushed mid blue around the heart. Stamp the Cheese Plant leaves in pale blue then stamp a few more in dark blue.

I thought id enter a couple of challenges...

Stempelsonnen challenge anything goes

The stamping boutique make your own background. I'm considering the stamped area around the heart as background.

Budget Challenge card 3

Good Morning, and it's nearly the weekend. I usually don't get as excited about weekends as a lot of you simply because weekends are regular working days for me most of the time, but this week I'm not working for a change.
But before I get too excited about the prospect of a lazy Saturday, let me show you the third in the set of the budget challenge cards from Creative Cardmaking.

I used that lush Paperartsy Chatsworth paper again.

Book pages to cover a tailors dummy cut with my Timmy sewing room die, I inked the edges lightly with Picked Raspberry ink.

An old zip, the colour of the bag of zips determined the colour scheme for the cards.

The tape measure was cut from Marion Smith paper.

Some lovely flowers from Sweet Lilac, and all finished off with a nice swirly happy birthday sentiment from Claritystamp.

Ok that's it from me today, I must finishe prep for my class this evening.

Thanks for stopping by!

Budget Challenge card 2

Late on parade again, oops.

I'm here now though, and I said id show you another card from the budget challenge I did for Creative Cardmaking...

This one is a shaker card using some more book pages and some seed beads that were in the bargain basket.

I also used my brick wall Claritystencil with some Picked Raspberry ink, and a couple of elements from a piece of Marion Smith scrapbook paper.

This one is a little different from my usual preferred style but it fitted nicely with the other cards in the set.

I'll show you one more tomorrow if you pop back.

Have a good evening whatever you're doing!

Budget challenge card 1

Good Morning, cold isn't it. I'm glad I did hot water bottles for the bunnies last night, I know they are in a cosy shed cuddled up together but I still worry.
Anyway, here is a card I did for Creative Cardmaking a couple of issues ago, I had to spend no more than a fiver in a charity shop and combine what I bought with my stash to create some cards.
I bought buttons, paperback book, zips, beads, I just used the book pages on this one to create the flowers with my tattered florals sizzix die, combined with tattered leaves, some blossoms and leaves from Sweet Lilac Flowers, (they have a cool offer on, £30 worth of flowers for £17.50 incl postage), Paperartsy Chatsworth paper, May Arts ribbon and Clarity Letterbox sentiments.

I will show you another budget card tomorrow if you pop in.
I'm mainly staying at home today where it's warm, I brought a couple of bits from work to do at the dining table.
Have a good day, stay warm.

Awesome Beauty

Hello!
Sunday night already, it'll soon be Easter....
I thought id blog tonight instead of in the morning because to be honest, I intend having a little late sleep.

I quite like squirrels, unless they go near the bunnies, but they never have yet. So I was very happy to see this particular Claritystamp, and I think the large leaf stencil goes with any woodland nature type project.

Shame the photo isn't too good but that's nothing new for me!

I decoupaged and glazed the squirrel and added some Wordchains to complete.

Hope you like it!

Road Trip

Good Morning and happy almost weekend!

Today's card is one of my samples for America.

I used a mixture of the Sunglasses sets with the various elements that come with each, all available on the Clarity website. And I used my letterbox kit of course.

Right then, lots to do today, including organising stuff for Jake bunny's road trip tomorrow when he will meet a potential wifey, hopefully with any luck on Sunday I can show you a picccy of the happy couple!

Have a good one!

Walk in the park tutorial

Good Morning!

As promised here is the tutorial for one of my Wee Folk cards

You will need

Wee Folk Claritystamp set 1

Floral Figures Claritystamp set

Cherry Blossom Claritystamp

Love and best wishes Claritystamp

Clarity brushes

Gelli plate card

Adirondack dye Inkpads, Lemonade, Terracotta, Juniper.

Archival Inkpads, Black, Sap Green

Waterbrush/paintbrush

Low tack tape

Black micron pen

Post it notes

Heart die cutter

Attach low tack tape to a piece of Gelli card to create your frame.

Brush Lemonade ink around the edges of all the windows.

Using post it notes, isolate the bottom right window.

Stamp the cherry blossom in black archival ink

Stamp the children on swings and use a micron pen to fix the swings to the branches.

Stamp the grass from the floral figures set using Sap Green archival ink.

Sponge a little terracotta ink around the top.

Stamp the family into place in the top left window

Add the cherry blossom and the grasses

Now this is where I have a photo missing...add terracotta ink to the top, just like you did with the children on the swings. And add some terracotta around the two remaining windows.

I then die cut a couple of hearts and stamped them with the sphere shape from the floral figures, but I decided two was too much, see below?

So I took one away and replaced it the one of my fave sentiment stamps.

Use a paintbrush to colour the blossoms with terracotta ink.

Frame your little windows and a heart with a micron pen.

I coloured my cardstock with the Inkpads id used for a good match, layered up and fixed onto an 8 inch cardblank.

Hope you like it!

Thanks for popping in.

I'll let you know how it goes!

And as if by magic, here's a card with a love theme...

I used my fave Poppy Clarity stencil and just clear embossed.

The Love is one of the Wordchains.

And I love big bows with satin crush ribbon.

A little bit blowy...

Good morning! Well it's not noon yet so it's definitely still morning.

What a night, have you retrieved your wheelie bin from three streets away? I hope the winds didn't cause any real problems for anyone, it can be such a destructive force can't it.

So while looking through pics to decide what to blog, I thought this one was quite apt.

Apologies for picture, I seem to have uploaded a few unedited ones.

I used the Wind of Change set.

I got the 'windy' look by using linen textured card.

Have a great weekend, and if you fancy an extra helping of Barbara Gray on telly, check the create and craft website, Barbara and Dean will be on at 3pm tomorrow live from the USA!

Clock tutorial

Good evening/morning, whichever it is?

I think I've lost about 22 hours somewhere, I've been a bit busy, that's why this is late.

So, the clock then...

This is where we're headed.

Scrape Grunge paste through your stencil onto your canvas/greyboard, leave to dry or gently heat with heat tool.

Paint with red acrylic paint, let it dry.

Paint over the red with black acrylic paint

Before black paint dries, dab with a baby wipe to remove lots of the black, let it dry.

The next step is to dry brush the piece with gold acrylic paint.

For the butterflies and numbers to match, paint a couple of pieces of card red, let it dry.

Drag a little black paint over the red.

Now stamp and cut out your butterflies and numbers, glaze the numbers with clear embossing or glossy accents, whichever you prefer.

Hope you like it!
