Autumn Leaves at Fantasy Stampers

Good Morning

Thanks for popping in.

There's a new challenge theme over on Fantasy Stampers challenge bclog, quite appropriate to the weather this weekend, it's Autumn Leaves.

I used the Autumn Leaves/Maple Leaves stamp set from Clarity, we have that set with us at the open days in Catterick, come and get it!

I used Willow, Lettuce, Terracotta, Butterscotch and Raisin Inkpads to stamp, then brushed a couple of colours around the edges. I stamped and cut out a couple of extra leaves to 3D and added glossy accent veins.

The other Fantasy DT girls have done some lovely work if you would like to check them out, and we'd love you to join in the challenge, you have two weeks to get your entry in.

Ok, I'm off, have a great Sunday x

Finish it Friday #9

Good Morning folks!

It's Friday again, so another Finish it Friday project is in order.

This one is using up a little demo practice piece from when I was experimenting with distress markers to create a landscape.

I was pleased that I achieved the look I wanted.

To finish it off, I just needed to ink the edges and stamp a tree!
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it.

Finish it Friday #8

Good Morning, hope you are well.

Another Finish it Friday project.

This one is made up of bits of linen card that I used for demo'ing easy inky backgrounds in a class, I chopped one of them up to paper weave then sprayed it with distress ink for extra texture. I added a couple of book page circles that were used in the same project along with the butterfly which I added glossy accents and a tiny key.

The original class card looked like this one below....

Have you got any leftover bits to use up, what you gonna make?

Have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by!

I've joined the Fantasy Stampers DT.

Hello bloggy friends, happy Saturday to you!

I've been looking forward to telling you that I've been invited to join some lovely crafty ladies on the design team at Fantasy Stampers challenge blog, it's been a long time since I've done any challenge blog stuff for various reasons, i have missed it so I'm happy to jump back in.

The theme for the new challenge is

The colour Purple

I gently brushed Milled Lavender distress ink through my brick stencil, then stamped Shepherds Purse in Dusty Concorde ink and washed over it with a very wet small paintbrush to give a washy look. Then I splattered a little more Dusty Concorde across the card and added a sentiment.

There are some lovely inspiration cards by the other dt members over on the Fantasy Stampers blog, why not pop over and have a look.

Thanks for stopping by!

Finish it Friday #7

Good Morning!

Well it will hopefully be morning when this goes live, I'm scheduling because I'll be in the middle of a field with no Internet, but it's good to take yourself off once in a while isn't it, and I'll be with good friends and my wellies!

So, what unloved scraps have I thrown together for this week then.....

I had a dig in the abandoned Gelli print pile and found this one that I could match up with a part done butterfly montage topper that had an Anglina film butterfly on, the butterfly was very battered and old so I pulled it back off and added a plain one, just stamped in Lettuce ink to match, I decided to leave it uncoloured to stand out against all that yellowy green. So I just trimmed everything up, edged with a black inkpad, layered onto black card and added some torn parchment paper and sticky gems.

Hope you like it!

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges....

Fab and Funky Things with wings

Crafting with an attitude Anything goes

Have a lovely weekend!

Finish it Friday #6

Good Morning and happy nearly weekend!

Another Finish it Friday project then, here we go....

This one is combining two abandoned pieces, the background was done by brayering various colours of Paperartsy chalk paint and then stamped in paint with my Journalling stamp set. I was trying some colours together that I wouldn't normally combine, I quite like this one so I'm. It sure why I put it in the unloved box.

The central piece has been in my scraps forever, since I was demoing Angelina film/fibres at all the shows around the country, it just needed finishing so I coloured the corset with Promarker, and added Glossy Accents.

What have you got cluttering up your desk then? You gonna go and use it up?

Have a great weekend whatever you're up to!

Easy Happy Birthday

Good afternoon!

I should have blogged on Friday with another Finish it Friday project, the project was done but I ran out of time to blog.

This Friday seems ages away so I thought id sneak in a quick blog post with a very quick birthday card.

This is also a finish it project, I had some swatches from when new embossing folders arrived ages and ages ago, and I had a handful of the little Clarity cat already stamped and cut into tiles, very handy in a hurry!

So you'll come back on Friday?

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by.

Finish it Friday #5

Happy Friday to you!

Yep another week done and dusted.

Busy one here, I'm off to do one of Susan Moran's fab parchment workshops, I've been really looking forward to it. I've also got to pack the car for my Shrewwsbury class tomorrow..

But right now, it's time for another run of Finish it Friday projects, this is where I've been delving through my discarded scraps and half finished bits and bobs, here's this week's offering.

It's an 8x8, you know I like big cards!

And every bit of this card came out of the use it up box,

Bit of Chatsworth paper from Paperartsy is behind the trellis die cut from Tonic.

Final piece of Bee paper from a nice Prima pad, wish I could get more of that.

And of course there has to be some Clarity, the circle die cut was stamped with the Briar Rose and sentiment, it was actually a part done demo piece from a class last year.

Here is the project that we did with the centre circle in class

Right then, I'm off!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

Groovi Reindeer Wreath

Good Morning!

So much for summer eh, has it stopped raining where you are yet?

But seeing as the sun isn't cracking the pavement, I don't feel so bad about showing another Christmas card....

I really enjoyed making this, well Clarity Groovi is therapeutic...

I first transferred the reindeers and holly line art onto the parchment, then I used one of the border plates to put 2 basic square frames in place, next I added another border plate design around the frame. Then it was time for a little free hand to round the corners with the larger embossing tool.

I coloured with Spectrum Noir pencils.

Time to turn the parchment over and work from the front, I used a bold straight grid and single needle tool to add some piercing detail and cut a few little crosses. I used a two needle tool to pierce around the reindeer antlers, then carefully snipped the excess away, it looks lovely even without all the piercing and snipping too, take it as far as you feel comfy!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

No syn fried rice

Hello!

Hope your weekend has started well, I've actually got a Saturday off work, rare!

I've got tons of crafty projects to keep me out of mischief but first I thought id show you the tasty no syn fried rice I've been making.

Start by cooking your easy cook rice in a large pan, be sure to wash all the starch out first or rice will be sticky.

Five minutes before it's cooked through in plenty of veg, I used peas, green beans, carrots, peppers and sweetcorn and small amount of onion.

When cooked, drain and transfer into a hot wok or frying pan that's been sprayed with fry light.

Fry for a couple of minutes, then add a teaspoon of curry powder and couple tablespoons of soy sauce.

Beat an egg, or two if you're doing a big batch of rice.

Drizzle egg slowly into rice and stir at the same time, fry for two more minutes

Then serve, I had the new Slimming World Thai chicken burgers with mine.

Tastes great, shame about the photo!

Thanks for stopping by.

Festive

Good Morning!

Time for another FESTIVE card, see I didn't say the bad C word!

I put the bunting in place first, then sat the Dove on top.

This is my fave bird from the Doves Groovi plate, the other one has more feather detail.

Then I added the leafy bits from the dove plate.

I embossed a little, then coloured with Speccy pencils.

I hope you like it!

I'm currently camped out by the letterbox waiting for the new Groovi designs to arrive, I'm not addicted though....am I?
