What a night!

Well last night was totally awsome! Me and Stevie went to see Iron Maiden in Manchester. Airborne was the supporting act, they are great but not as good live as the mighty Maiden!  I cant believe Bruce Dickinson's voice has not suffered at all- they have done about 70 shows for this tour!  And i think Steve Harris has sold his soul to the devil in return for eternal youth, he just doesnt seem to age.
The pics are not too good because of the lights and stuff, and its only my phone camera.

The huge Eddie came up from behind the set, he had red glowing eyes and moved and everything!
I couldnt get a decent pic of Bruce! grrrr

I think Stevie might have enjoyed himself a bit!!

And while we waited in the car for the traffic to clear a little.....

Right, fun over, back to being a boring old mum again!

Another Penny Black, and a hot date-not for me!

Another week is flying past at breakneck speed! Wednesday, so its the big day for Steve's date with his young lady, why is an 11 year old getting more romance than me???  The plan is for Grandad to take them to Mc Donalds and then shopping for a birthday present, if your wondering why its not me thats taking them, its quite straight forward- I dont have a brand new car like Grandad and therefore my little 55 Corsa would embarrass my son!!!!
To be fair though, he has made more effort than most men-none of that 'spray a bit of deodorant over the sweaty armpits' mallarky! he is showered (and face shaved, did i mention he is 11!!!!!!) and the house is whiffing quite heavily of lynx already!

I still havent got a huge amount of stuff to show you as im still working on secret stuff, but here is another card made with the Penny Black crossword stamp-but without the crossword!

The Sentiment as also a PB. I coloured with pencils. The lurrrvly white embossed card is from Cardcraft Plus, in other colours too. All layered up for nice dimension.

I have been busy, its just a bit blurred now!

I really had to think hard about what I have done all week because its just flown by in a bit of a blur! I think, Monday was spent recovering from the weekend and watched Steve's leavers assembly, Tuesday i had a stamping class, Wednesday i was at Ideal World, Thursday- i honestly cant remember! Friday i was working on the next HD project magazine.
Which brings us to today, apart from a quick tidy, feed the bunnies, put the washer on, i havent done a tap!
Got to get in gear soon though, the kids are home any minute and i have tons of DT cards to make.

I better show you a card as i have not posted one all week.
This is using a Penny Black stamp and some Bo Bunny paper.

Planned meets Impromptu-what a weekend!

I just had to tell you about my weekend-it was great!
The planned part was taking Stevie to see Judas Priest on Saturday night, its been organised for months but I have not been able to blog about it because it was a surprise, and yes he was surprised! It was a fantastic night, worth every penny!
Rival Sons opened the show followed by Queensryche, then while AC/DC played in the background there was clearly a ton of people behind the curtain setting up for the main attraction..... And then the 'Epitath' curtain flew open and lasers, lights and flames went crazy and the whole place erupted!!!!
The gig bug has definitely bitten Stevie, "We need to start a list of bands we want to see dont we mum"  Luckily he doesnt have long to wait for the next one, I have tickets for Iron Maiden on the 28th!

The impromptu part was Doncaster Racecourse, I decided a few days ago I would go because I have never been to any of the shows apart from the Happy Stampers in Port Sunny, which is 5 minutes from home!
Anyway, I hot footed around to see my lovely friend Barbara on the Claritystamp stall and ended up lending a hand, the whole gang (Barb,Grace,Elaine,Annette,Heather & Dave) worked soooo hard!  Barb then terrified the life out of me by saying " Do me a favour? take over for me so I can grab a quick break? "   Can you believe it-me standing in for The Actual Queen of Inkyness !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I did, and the people didnt even pelt me with rotten tomatoes, actually they were all lovely! At one point I looked up and spotted two familiar smiling faces-Paul Church and Barbara standing at the back of the crowd watching me, luckily my demo went ok!!
What a fantastic experience, thank you so much Barbara and the gang. Thank you also to all the people who stopped to talk to me about my crafty work- Stamping and Hunkydory! And I definitely have to say thanks to Paul for the delicious Brownies!!

I didnt get photos at Doncaster, but I did manage a couple at the gig!

Queensryche were seriously good, never paid them much attention in the past-shame on me!

The wait for Judas Priest was undescribable,as soon as the Epitath curtain lit up the atmosphere in the crowd was electric!

I think this speaks for itself!

Rob was dressed in a shiny gold cloak here with a matching trident, looked fantastic!

The noise when he rode the bike on was LOUD!

I coloured with Copics and inked with Spun Sugar & Tumbled Glass distress inks.

Almost white Magnolia!

I thought I would show you another Magnolia card today as I have been colouring again, actually i have been naughty and bought 72 more copics at work yesterday- I neeeeeeeded them.

I used some of the lovely bits of white and pale blue Hunkydory embossed card that were sat on my desk leftover from work, the sentiment is also a Hunkydory, as is the rainbow shimmer mirri- I stocked up on this beofre it sells out!.
The edge punch is an EK Success.

A little help with the box card.

This is for anybody who is unsure about putting the 'Twas the Night' box card together.  I didnt have everything at hand because I am not at work today,so i had to dig around the mountain of leftovers on my desk at home, but I found enough to show you how to do it!

Put double sided tape around aperture, for Acetate, and on left side panel for image & decoupage.

Put high tack tape around 3 sided as below

Attach your image panel and Acetate as below( I didnt have any Acetate,so just pretend i did!!)

Trim about 1cm from the outside edges of your decoupage layers, so they dont get in the way when you put box together, as below (i could only find 1 piece!) attach all layers using pads/pinflair.

Crease all score lines. Remove high tack tape from ONE of the 3 sides and square up the corner of your box frame as below, I know it looks kak-handed in picture-it was one handed because the other hand was taking the picture!! lol

With your corner nice and flush close the frame over the image panel on this side.

Remove the tape and close the second side making sure it is flush, now the final side should just slot inside as if you are closing a box, just keep the sticky away from the inside until you are happy it is nice and flush.

Final tip, I recommend you use both hands for yours!!

A forgotten Magnolia!

How rude of me!  I have had this image sat around for ages hidden under the mountain on my desk, lovely Mel Heaton let me rifle through her Magnolia stamp collection so i stamped a nice selection but just seem to busy most of the time to use them and then i forget about them!

I coloured with Copics, distressed with Milled Lavender. Paper is from Dovecraft and Punch is an EK.

I would like to enter this into the Magnolia Stamp Lovers Flower Challenge
