Workshop Wednesday #1

Afternoon!

As there was no Groovi Tuesday this week, we need a Workshop Wednesday instead, usually it will just be a little peek at a project I've done in a workshop, past or present, but as today is the first one we'll have a step by step...

Grab your Lapwing stamps ready and a piece of Clarity stencil card.

Using Cobalt archival ink, stamp the lapwings in place, take note of where the big fella is at the bottom, cover the birds with masks. Put a border of low tac tape around all four sides and put a moon mask in place.

Prepare your Brayer with Clover adirondack ink

Brayer the sky, then the bottom area too, leave a nice band of white through the middle though.

Using the Tangle stencil and clarity brushes, add a little texture to the bottom area only, just sweep gently in one direction from the bottom of the stencil upwards.

Remove the moon mask and replace with the aperture part instead, gently add a little weathered wood ink along one side of the moon.

Remove all masks and masking tape.

Use a marker or pencil to add shade to the birds, note, I used an alcohol marker even though I stamped with archival, I was very very careful not to touch the stamped line art with the marker or it could make it bleed and ruin my pen.

Terrible shadow on this pic, sorry!

The finished one is a bit better, but I'll never be a photographer.

Hope you like it, the class did once they got over the fear of the Brayer, funnily enough Barbara mentions fear of the Brayer on her blog today, Dave's strategy made me laugh!

Thanks for stopping by, hopefully see you Friday for another piece of bodged artwork from heartbreak corner.

Finish it Friday #7

Good Morning!

Well it will hopefully be morning when this goes live, I'm scheduling because I'll be in the middle of a field with no Internet, but it's good to take yourself off once in a while isn't it, and I'll be with good friends and my wellies!

So, what unloved scraps have I thrown together for this week then.....

I had a dig in the abandoned Gelli print pile and found this one that I could match up with a part done butterfly montage topper that had an Anglina film butterfly on, the butterfly was very battered and old so I pulled it back off and added a plain one, just stamped in Lettuce ink to match, I decided to leave it uncoloured to stand out against all that yellowy green. So I just trimmed everything up, edged with a black inkpad, layered onto black card and added some torn parchment paper and sticky gems.

Hope you like it!

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges....

Fab and Funky Things with wings

Crafting with an attitude Anything goes

Have a lovely weekend!

Mr and Mr

Good evening, hope you have enjoyed your Sunday, it's certainly flown by!

I did say I would show you the whole card from my sneak peek yesterday....

I inked through a heart aperture then stamped the dove from Wedding Wee Folk 6 in the same ink, I removed the aperture and stamped the car from the same set, then I masked the ends of the Mr & Mrs line sentiment to stamp Mr & Mr instead.

Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to check out the other DT members blogs for some fantastic Clarity samples.

Clarity sneak peek

Good afty to ya!

I hadn't realised the time I've been a busy girl round the house, I'm hoping to get all my jobs done so I can chill out tomorrow...

Speaking of tomorrow, you don't need me to remind you that Barbara is on Create and Craft in the morning at 9am-11am, the new stamp designs are beautiful as always, here is a sneak peek at one of my samples.

I will show you the full project tomorrow.

Right then back to housework and maybe another little walk with our new family member Tilly...

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Easter

Good Morning!

So, you were not impressed with my Christmas card in March then lol, I could hear you groaning through my iPad screen! Don't come crying to me on Christmas Eve when you haven't finished your cards lol, remember I reminded you way back in March!

So how about an Easter card then?

Actually I'm gonna confess, I made a handful of these but I don't really send Easter cards, so my next door neighbour will get one but the rest will be converted into birthday cards etc by covering the sentiment with a little plaque.

I used....

Abstract squares claritystencil. One of my faves.

Tulip claritystencil

Clarity blending brushes

Happy Easter Claritystamp

Inks...butterscotch, stream, cranberry, lettuce.

I did a similar but different version that I'll show you on Monday....and maybe a little ol' tutorial seeing as I am having a couple of days off.

Thanks for stopping by, if you pop back tomorrow I'll have a sneak peek for the Claritystamp telly show on Sunday with Barbara.

Imagine

Afternoon to you!

I've been having a couple of quiet days after the NEC marathon last week, it's good to be with the team but it's great to be back home too.

Here is one of the cards I made while playing around with stencil brushes one of the days at the show...

Now it doesn't come anymore clean and simple than that does it!

I had to fight the urge to do more to it, but my cautious side won.

I used one of the Clarity Wordchain stamps and the Wee Folk fairies together with one of the large aperture Clarity stencils.

So tell me, would you have left it alone or added more to it?

Love is....

Love is....

Sharing your cushion!

Mainly it's all loved up here, the bunnies are loved up, Amber is loved up, Steve is seriously loved up with miss Grace.

Me? Well I'm sure there's a hot reliable rich bloke waiting just around the corner for me, I just keep walking around the wrong corner lol.

So I had a look through to see if I had a romantic project to show you, nada! Oh wait, I found this one-it's got a heart on so that'll do...

I tore a heart from copy paper and brushed ink through aperture, then using same ink I stamped the Aliums, removed aperture and stamped the text.

Have a lovely day!

Awesome Beauty

Hello!
Sunday night already, it'll soon be Easter....
I thought id blog tonight instead of in the morning because to be honest, I intend having a little late sleep.

I quite like squirrels, unless they go near the bunnies, but they never have yet. So I was very happy to see this particular Claritystamp, and I think the large leaf stencil goes with any woodland nature type project.

Shame the photo isn't too good but that's nothing new for me!

I decoupaged and glazed the squirrel and added some Wordchains to complete.

Hope you like it!

Walk in the park tutorial

Good Morning!

As promised here is the tutorial for one of my Wee Folk cards

You will need

Wee Folk Claritystamp set 1

Floral Figures Claritystamp set

Cherry Blossom Claritystamp

Love and best wishes Claritystamp

Clarity brushes

Gelli plate card

Adirondack dye Inkpads, Lemonade, Terracotta, Juniper.

Archival Inkpads, Black, Sap Green

Waterbrush/paintbrush

Low tack tape

Black micron pen

Post it notes

Heart die cutter

Attach low tack tape to a piece of Gelli card to create your frame.

Brush Lemonade ink around the edges of all the windows.

Using post it notes, isolate the bottom right window.

Stamp the cherry blossom in black archival ink

Stamp the children on swings and use a micron pen to fix the swings to the branches.

Stamp the grass from the floral figures set using Sap Green archival ink.

Sponge a little terracotta ink around the top.

Stamp the family into place in the top left window

Add the cherry blossom and the grasses

Now this is where I have a photo missing...add terracotta ink to the top, just like you did with the children on the swings. And add some terracotta around the two remaining windows.

I then die cut a couple of hearts and stamped them with the sphere shape from the floral figures, but I decided two was too much, see below?

So I took one away and replaced it the one of my fave sentiment stamps.

Use a paintbrush to colour the blossoms with terracotta ink.

Frame your little windows and a heart with a micron pen.

I coloured my cardstock with the Inkpads id used for a good match, layered up and fixed onto an 8 inch cardblank.

Hope you like it!

Thanks for popping in.

Flower Trellis

Hello!
I spent ages deciding what to show you today, I kept going back to this one though....I remember I really enjoyed making it.

I made this one for Creative Cardmaking, the theme was Stencils and the colour pallet included shades of red, turquoise, sandy beige.

I used

my treasured trellis cutter from Tonic,

Filigree Flower stamps and stencil from Claritystamp,

I think I used Adirondack inks, Stream, Aged Mahogany, Sandal.

There are a couple of other designs in this mag feature, I'll show you those soon.

Thanks so much for popping in, I really appreciate it.

Tomorrow I will blog another telly sample from yesterday with Barb.

Extreme masking again...

Hello!

I said I would show you what I did with the Filigraphy stamps that go with the big floral stencil...

Well actually I just used one of the petal stamps..

I do love making large backgrounds from little stamps!

I stamped the word lines first then masked the central area, stamped and masked as I went along, then brushed a couple of ink colours. Last time I did this with the family tree Filigraphy petals I used a turquoise ink with yellow, I think I prefer that colour combo, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

Wooden Horse and the Trojan

Good Morning!

Are you all set to watch Barbara on the telly box at 9am? I know I am, Internet permitting.

This is the first of my samples using some of the new goodies...

I used the Wooden Horse, Trojan Horse and Morning has broken stamps, also one of the new abstract stencils. These are likely to sell out, but don't worry if you miss them on Create and Craft they will then be available on the Claritystamp website.

I stamped the wooden horse and masked it, stamped the Trojan and masked that too, then stencilled and stamped the Morning has broken.

Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely Sunday!

Purple Twilight

Afternoon!

I thought I would steal five minutes to blog, it's officially my enforced sit down between tasks, very frustrating not being able to just crack on and get everything done but such is life.

So, without further waffle and dribble, here is the first of my Clarity samples from Barbara's show this morning, I did see the second hour but not the whole show.

I was quite happy with this but then added the misty bits through the sky, which I now wish I had left alone, I may re-do this when I have time and change the colour too.

Anyway, I used...

Remountable Moorhens and Nuthatches

Woodland animals

Branch

Tree Branch from the Fly Away set

Purple Twilight Adirondack

So that's my sit down over, back to it, soooo much to do its scary.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
