Groovi Tuesday #2 step by step

Good Morning!

It's Tuesday again already, so that must mean it's time for another Groovi project, and maybe a sneak peek of a couple of my demos for tv tomorrow, but only if you're still awake at the end of this step by step....

So start with the Holly border plate.

Put the large holly in place at the bottom of your parchment.

Then add more either side.

Put Holly lady behind the holly bush.

Switch to this plate

Put the cottage in place.

And some hills and paths

And some trees.

Time for some embossing, use the foam side of your Groovi mat and large tool

See, nice snow swept hills.

That's enough snow, this isn't a Christmas card!

Now, get your pencils out, remember it's not a Christmas card...

Winter hasn't got to mean gloomy colours.

There you go, done!

Are you still there? Sneak peek then? Which ones to show you I wonder....

My show times are 3pm and 6pm, on Hochanda tv, I'd love you to join me. You can watch on Sky, Freeview, Freesat, or online.

And, tomorrow after the tv shows, I'll blog a step by step for one of my demo's, I think it's quite a nice project so I didn't want to wait another week to blog it.

Ok, have a good day, thanks for popping in!

Soul Food Sunday #2

Good Morning!

It's time for another FOOOOOD blog post, so if you don't like food look away now! Lol

I think a pudding is in order, how about this one for 2 1/2 syns?

It's so easy, I don't do complicated.

I started with a meringue nest, this is where the syns are.

I then mixed a spoonful of sweetener with Quark, do you know what Quark is? I googled for a picture to show you, this is what came up first...

Hot isn't he....

The picture I really wanted was this one..

I put some of the sweetened Quark into the meringue next then layered up with lots of fresh fruit, I then added more sweetened Quark, drizzled half a pot of toffee Muller Light yogurt over, then topped with a couple more strawberry slices.

It was seriously delicious, just try it!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your Sunday.

Finish it Friday #10

Happy Friday!

Thanks for popping in for another Finish It Friday project.

I picked these bits out of the box...

First I used Cracked Pistachio and Mustard Seed inks to stamp the text stamp from the Journal stamp set

Then stamp the large flower with black Archival

Tear the bottom of the card

Using a blending tool, ink around the edges with Peacock Feathers and Abandoned Coral

Stamp the flowers onto a selection of the book pages

Cut various parts of the flowers out

Stick the flowers onto the card and stamp a sentiment.

Doodle around near the edges with a black pen.

Layer onto dark card

Layer onto a clean book page and construct card as desired.

I have several birthdays in January, I know exactly who will like the bright colours on this one! Hopefully it pops through her letterbox today.

Thanks again for stopping by.

I'll be back on Sunday with the second Soul Food Sunday, hope you can pop in.

Groovi Tuesday #1

Good Morning!

The day has finally arrived, yes indeedy, it's back to school today....

Oh and it's the first Groovi Tuesday too...

I have a step by step this week.

Using your circles plate, put 3 circles in place as in pic.

Then start to fill outside circle with the large holly on the Holly border plate.

Add Holly lady to the centre circle.

Turn it over and have a look, I don't want to add any more detail to this one, keep it clean and simple.

I was short of time when I did this, and didn't have time for white work, so instead...

I used a Polychromos pencil.

I also don't want the holly to look like holly, just a pattern border.
Add some black to finish, see no sign of Christmas is there.
Add finishing touches and layer up on coloured card and it's sorted!
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by!
Pop back on Friday if you can, I have a cool Finish it Friday project to show you.

Fantasy Stampers challenge, happy birthday.

Good Morning!

Today I'm sharing my dt card for the new Fantasy Stampers challenge.

The theme is Happy Birthday, as it's Fantasy Stampers 2nd birthday.

I used up a couple of shaving foam pieces that were hanging around.

I simply stamped the large Clarity poppies in black archival ink and added extra colour with a couple of Polychromos pencils, they blend so nicely on top of the silky shaving foam pieces.

The other design team members have done some lovely designs if you have chance to pop over, you have 2 weeks if you fancy entering the challenge.

I've got a handful of birthdays in January, just need to decide who is getting this one!

Thanks for stopping by, maybe pop back tomorrow for a Groovi project.

Soul food Sunday #1

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by. So, as the title may suggest, this is the first of my Soul Food Sunday blog posts.

Nobody could ever accuse me of being a chef or even a good cook, the idea behind the Soul Food posts is just to show some of the things that I now eat, there's nothing fancy infact most of it is simple and easy to prepare, but it's helped me to lose more than 7 stone since last January, while still eating REAL food.....and chocolate!

Some of you are already on the Slimming World plan, hopefully this might give you a couple of new ideas or just remind you of some meals you haven't had in a while, if you've not yet taken the plunge and joined Slimming World it's never too late, click here to find out where your nearest group is, and check for membership offers, meal plans etc!

Tikka Stuffed Mushroom

You will need

Huuuuuuuuge mushrooms

A pepper

Linda McCartney vegetarian red onion and rosemary sausages (I use these a lot, very tasty)

Slimming World Tikka Masala sauce from Iceland

Be sure to take the sausages and tikka out of the freezer to thaw ahead of time, I leave mine in the fridge overnight.

Mix tikka and the sausage together and quite simply stuff the mushrooms!

Add sliced pepper, and a sprinkle of mixed herbs if desired, into a Pyrex dish in the oven for 30 minutes.

Done!

Maybe try adding some chopped onion and tomato to the tikka too.

What do you like to eat? Maybe I can offer a SW friendly alternative...

Thanks again for popping in, next Sunday I'll show you a tasty desert that'll be kind to the waistline but big on taste!

New blog features!

Hello and happy new year to you!

Did you make a New Years resolution?

Well I never used to bother, why set yourself to do something you can't keep up eh? So last year I decided to do it differently, I decided my resolution was just to TRY and keep TRYING in all things. It turned out to be a good decision in some areas of my life, my weight for instance, I decided that even though I didn't truly believe I had what it takes to make the right changes and stick to them, I was still gonna try!

And I went from this....

And this....

To this, today, right now...

No make-up or anything, sorry, just exactly as I am chillin at home!

I'll maybe brush my hair and get a nice piccy ready to show you tomorrow, I'll tell you more about tomorrow in a minute.

The thing I didn't manage to keep doing well last year was blogging, you may have noticed....so this year I'm gonna TRY to do better with that too!

I've thought about what I would like to change about my blogging, and decided to introduce a couple more regular features in addition to Finish it Friday, they won't feature every single week, maybe fortnightly, but as many weeks as I can manage.

And the odd comment candy would be in order too, I've got a giveaway in mind for January, I'll tell you what it is in the week, ok?

So what's these new regular features? Here they are....

Groovi Tuesday, I will aim to blog a Groovi project on as many Tuesdays as I can.

Workshop Wednesday, I'll post a project featured in one of my workshops.

Finish it Friday, this is where I create a project using oddments, offcuts or half finished abandoned bits.

And finally, Soul Food Sunday, this is where I will show you some of the tasty food I've eaten on Slimming World over the past year, share the odd tip here and there, maybe you'll feel inspired, who knows! I'll tell you more about it tomorrow if you pop back for the first instalment.

Ok, so thanks for popping in,come back soon, I appreciate it!

Clean and simple Christmas

Good Morning and happy Friday!

It's the halfway point in the clean and simple Christmas challenge over at Fantasy Stampers, here's my card...

I used my large leafy swirl from Clarity, and a really old bauble stamp.

I used Cornflower archival ink for nice detailed stamping.

I have made a batch of these because they are so quick to make.

There's some lovely ideas from the other dt ladies, so pop over to Fantasy Stampers and have a look.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day. X
